Happy New Year!

Every year about this time, I make a few resolutions for the coming year.  When I noticed the last time I posted to this blog was way back in May, I realized that needs to be my #2 resolution for 2017. Post to my BLOG more often.

What’s my #1 resolution? It’s the same one I make every year. Lose weight.

Considering how unsuccessful I’ve been at dropping the pounds in the past, I should probably quit setting that goal, however, if I stopped trying, I might find myself even heavier next January. I need a hip replacement, so I really can’t afford to put any weight on. I also don’t want to have the surgery without first shedding a few pounds  to lower my surgical risks. Therefore, I’m publicly committing to losing at least 30 pounds. (Maybe by posting my goal here, I’ll take my resolution more seriously.)

My #3 resolution is to write and release the story so many of my readers have been asking for–billionaire BJ Elliott’s happy-ever-after, preferably before my grandsons are home for the summer. The last two years have taught me I don’t get much written during June, July, and August when I’m playing with them.

If I tried to work on more than THREE resolutions this year, I suspect I’d lose focus, so I’ll leave it at three.  Although, if I were going to declare a fourth goal it would be to find more time to read.

the-wonder-of-you-smaller-boquet-camIf you subscribe to my newsletter, you probably already know I released my most recent book, The Wonder of You back in November, just in time for Thanksgiving. This novel is another returning Vietnam POW story–Book 2 in The Love of You family saga and a sequel to The Memory of You.

The The Wonder of You is also the Prequel to a NEW spin-off series called Beyond Redemption. You’ll still get to visit with old friends from my previous Return to Redemption books in this new series, because it will star characters who aren’t actually from Redemption but who have friends or family who live there. I needed to release this book before writing BJ Elliott’s story because he falls for the daughter of two secondary characters in The Wonder of You.dont-break-my-heart-digital-new

As a treat to kick the New Year off for you, I’m giving away my book, Don’t Break My Heart, Book 6 in the Return to Redemption series, for FREE during the next few days. If you haven’t read it, here is your chance.

I wish you all the best in the coming year. Do you have any resolutions for 2017 to declare?

Love Under Construction

Love Under Construction 3D NewsletterI’ve just released a new boxed set of the two most recent stories in the Return to Redemption series–(BOOK 6) DON’T BREAK MY HEART and (BOOK 7) KISSING JESSIE, which will give you a price break (only $5.99 instead of $7.99) when you buy both books together in the set, instead of separately. These novels star two women, Trisha and Jessie, who fall for the hunky partners of a construction company, Justin and Mike–hence the set’s LOVE UNDER CONSTRUCTION  title.

You may notice (below)  Kissing Jessie has had a cover makeover. That’s because my son HATED the original cover and thought Mike looked like a vampire going in for a bite. 🙂  I also decided the hero and heroine became lost in the color of the construction background. Anyway, I love the book’s new cover. (I’m a sucker for the color blue. And the cover model on the boxed set is exactly how I imagine Jessie.

The Wonder of You Digital NEW

THE WONDER OF YOU
Her child’s happiness, or her own?
A choice no woman should have to make

Six years ago, Julie Danvers’ husband was declared missing in action. A single tipsy night of indiscretion left her pregnant, guilt-ridden, and still uncertain whether she’s a widow or a wife. When she learns the love of her life, Rick, is actually alive and coming home, she’s both overjoyed and terrified. Now she’ll be forced to choose between her war-ravaged husband—who may be unable to accept her daughter, a sticky-faced reminder of her infidelity—and her child’s father who wants to make them a real family.

The only thing that kept POW Rick Danvers—also known as Ben—sane during his hellish Hanoi Hilton vacation was the dream of holding his beautiful wife again. He eagerly returns home during Operation Homecoming to discover his entire world has changed. His country doesn’t respect him, he’s lost his parents, and his so-called best friend has already provided Julie the baby Rick ached to give her before Uncle Sam drafted him.

If that’s not bad enough, while Julie was burning her bra, his aging uncle came out of the closet and appointed her president of their family construction business—a position she has no intention of relinquishing. Ben’s now a visitor in his own home, forced to live with a bossy preschool princess who resents him and has hijacked his faithful dog’s affection. Nevertheless, the passion between Julie and Rick burns hotter than ever. He refuses to give up the woman he still loves—or his business—without putting up a damn good fight. He didn’t survive hell only to lose everything in the end.

What’s Been Happening? / NEW Release

If you’ve been receiving my newsletter, you may know that my life has been in upheaval for the last year, which ended with my husband and me moving to Texas in February. I’m now unpacked, settled, and finally living a mere block and a half from my grandsons. (Sadly for you, that may mean more time away from my computer because my boys aren’t going to prefer playing with their Grammy more than their friends for too many more years. The oldest one, who’s 5 1/2, has already begun ditching me when his best buddy is around.)

During our move,  my alter-ego, L.L. Kellogg, has kept busy and has just released another red-hot novel, SIN CITY SEDUCTION, the third book in the Seduction series,  at Amazon. It’s available for the Kindle and in paperback for those of you who don’t have a reader or Kindle app. (By the way, for those of you who don’t know, Book 2, The Naughty Never Die, has been given a new title that’s more fitting to the Seduction Series CAPTIVE SEDUCTION.)

Remember Calder Pharmaceutical from HYPNOTIC SEDUCTION, Book 1? Well . . . Allison Miller, one of Calder’s employees, is supposed to get married in Las Vegas, but, when this ‘good girl’ arrives—eagerly anticipating her wedding night—her marriage plans fall completely apart, and Allison learns all about being naughty in Sin City.

Chivalry Isn’t Dead

Sin City Seduction Digital Smaller

Jilted architect, Josh Powell, may have sworn off love, but he’s still a virile man. When he recognizes a sexy woman from a Vegas adult entertainment ad, he wonders if a night with an attentive call girl might be the perfect remedy for his deflated ego and raging libido.

Eager to be married to her ultra-righteous fiancé and finally consummate their love, Allison Miller is stranded without a dime in Sin City. When a hunky stranger mistakes her for a hooker, she eventually convinces him she’s still a full-fledged virgin and not the woman in the pornographic ad. Nevertheless, after Josh’s kiss ignites her passion, Allison questions her feelings for the fiancé who abandoned her. Desperate for cash, she reluctantly accepts a job as Josh’s temporary assistant. All goes well until someone slips a new street drug into her drink. Suddenly, doing it is all she can think about.

The only way Josh can keep Allie safe from the Vegas perverts eager to take advantage of her uninhibited state, is to tend the damsel himself. Despite her frantic attempts at seduction, his chivalrous nature won’t let him claim her chastity— not while knowing his frozen heart will never be enough for the sweet girl who refuses to comply with Sin City’s unwritten rule: What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

Buy it at Amazon!

For those of you waiting for the next Laurie Kellogg Return to Redemption Series book, I’m sorry to tell you, you’ll have to wait a little longer. I’m busy working on a sequel to THE MEMORY OF YOU, starring Matt’s POW buddy, Ben Danvers, who returned home from Vietnam to discover his wife Julie had a child with his best friend.

Many of you have been asking for BJ (Ben) Elliott’s story, however, this new book THE WONDER OF YOU (also set in 1973) needs to be released first because it will feature the grandmother of BJ’s heroine as a secondary character. THE WONDER OF YOU will also be the Prequel for a spin-off series called BEYOND REDEMPTION, which will feature characters who have ties to the town of Redemption, either through family or friends.

By now, you’re probably wondering WHY on earth I named two characters in my Return to Redemption series BEN. Quite honestly, I have to chalk that up to a major author brain-fart. 🙂  So please forgive me if I’ve caused any confusion for you. If it helps, think of Ben Danvers as Ben and Ben Elliott as BJ.

As long life stays on an even keel, I plan to publish THE WONDER OF YOU by the end of this year—hopefully sooner. Laurie crossing her fingers. But after last year, I’ve learned how true the old saying is . . . When man makes plans, God simply laughs. Apparently, I’ve given Him a few belly-rolls in the last year.

Catching up on what’s new . . . A NEW Release

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while. Life was crazy during the holidays, however, I wasn’t idle. You may have noticed the covers for The Great Bedroom and No Exchanges, No Returns have had facelifts. If you haven’t seen their new look, here they are.

The GreatBedroomWar Cover Smaller       No Exchanges No Exchanges Alt SmallWhat else have I been doing?

I started writing my next Laurie Kellogg novel, which I hope to release this summer. Unfortunately, my alter ego, L.L. insisted she needed to publish Book Two in her Seduction series, first.  As always, L.L. went off half-cocked and took what should have been a basic romantic comedy and added a dark, edgy suspense subplot. We fought about this for months because I don’t write romantic suspense.

So once again, we ended up writing a fence-straddling novel with a foot in two different yards, so to speak.  She took me places I really didn’t want to go, creating several villains, one of whom is the nymphomaniac, Lily Parsons, who blackmailed Jordan Calder into giving her cousin, Nora, a job in his pharmaceutical lab in Hypnotic Seduction.  However, as I may have mentioned before, there’s no reasoning with L.L.  She’s a bit of flake.

So here I am today, announcing the release of L.L. Kellogg’s Book Two of the Seduction series, The Naughty Never Die.  Despite the edgy subplot, it’s still a Red-hot Romance that’s a Little Naughty and a Lot of Fun!

If only the good die young,
then New Jersey’s virtuous First Lady should be a cinch to kill
Unless . . . deep down she’s really quite naughty

The Beauty—She’s had enough of her goody-two-shoes life

The Naughty Never Die Book Cover SmallerSince her mother’s untimely death, Josephine Callahan has served as New Jersey’s First Lady. Acting as her father’s official hostess in the governor’s mansion is tantamount to living in a fishbowl, which makes S-E-X extremely difficult. On the brink of a nervous breakdown, frustrated Josie loses her usual good sense along with her cool and lets her assemblyman boyfriend talk her into a romantic Valentine getaway—a secret rendezvous she would never consider if she had a clue someone is trying to kill her.

The Beast—Beneath his scars lurks a hero

A deliberately twisted message—via the governor’s spiteful, assistant—misleads ex Special Forces officer DJ Ryder about the true objective of his freelance assignment. He’s told to, not only track down the governor’s classy daughter and hold her in protective custody, but to also teach her a lesson by letting her believe she’s been kidnapped. When Josie discovers the scarred, but still incredibly sexy badass has played her for a fool, she retaliates by feigning a raging case of Stockholm syndrome, teasing the brute until all he can think of is the ‘hold her’ part of his orders. How can Ryder concentrate on keeping Josie safe when he’s busy avoiding the danger she poses to his heart?

WARNING: L.L. Kellogg’s books are a little edgier and racier than Laurie Kellogg’s titles. However, if you like Red-hot Romance that’s a Little Naughty and a Lot of Fun, L.L.’s stories are probably for you!

A Back to School Novel

Readers have been asking when my next book will be released.

GOOD NEWS! The Parent Pact is now available at Amazon for the Kindle and will also be released  in paperback in a few days. To all the moms in the world heaving a big sigh of relief that their children are finally back in school, this book is for you!

For the last ten years, I’ve been working part-time as a school crossing guard in order to support my writing habit. I like to tell people I work a corner for a living. 🙂

Anyway, The Parent Pact was inspired by my post in front of the school, where I watch parents dropping off and picking up their children. One day, I saw a hunky dad in a business suit bringing his adorable daughter to school, and it kicked off my usual question of WHAT IF that always fires my imagination and gives birth to a story.

This time, my supposition was, What if a workaholic man lost his wife during the summer, and he suddenly had to cope with getting his little girl ready for the first day of school all by himself. And I was off and plotting!

I’ve given this book a back-to-school,  introductory price of $2.99. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
